Hair chalking!

DSCF3942
So yesterday I went to Michael's craft store and bought some soft pastels to chalk my hair! The picture is a bit low quality, but I was really pleased with how each lock turned out! I did blue, purple, and a salmon colors. Over night some of them may fade, but it's easy to redo them. If you are a blonde or have blonde pieces then it will take a few washes to get the color out, if you have darker hair the color should wash out right away.

These are the pastels I got. They costed about ten bucks. They are great quality and show up very well in hair! There are 24 pastels in the box assorted by rainbow coordination.

These are the pastels! So pretty right?! So when applying either apply product or dampen hair so the color sticks (DO NOT SOAK HAIR! It was cause your hair to fry!). The product I used was just a normal heat protected so my hair wouldn't fry. Before you Chalk your hair be sure to wash your hair well. I suggest a normal shampoo and some kind of conditioner. If your ends do fry at all put some sort of end mender in them, this will also bring back moister. On with the coloring process... spray some water or product in your hair, brush it threw, then choose your desired color pastel. Hold the piece of hair you are coloring and rub the pastel down your hair (DO NOT RUB IT UP OR BREAKAGE WILL OCCUR). After that, turn on your straighter (or curler) and go over the colored piece of hair, this locks in the color.
Just like that, you have cute colored hair! This worked really well for me, I was kind of shocked because my hair is so thick and gets knotted. I hope it works well for any of you who try it out! Thanks for reading my how to/ review on chalking!
